So many of you will know Bob, who runs event control, or Adrian, our site manager who you’ll meet year after year, but here’s our core team, who plan our events and bring in other experts alongside.
Mike Richmond
Founder
One of the founders of the health and safety principles in the events industry, Mike is an incredible operator in event planning, crisis management and crowd dynamics. As one of the founding directors of The Event Safety Shop, he has vast experience of all types of performers, event types and suppliers, saves our clients money, solves problems seamlessly and helps us to make things happen which perhaps might not.
He is also our resident maritime expert and his wealth of knowledge about tides, ships and traditions mean he is invaluable for harbour, sea and naval events, should you be planning a festival of the sea!
Ben Hardy
Managing Director
Ben is a meticulous and strategic event director. No matter what is at the core of our clients’ events, he learns the industry, its opportunities and possibilities and applies calm logic and experience to make magic happen. All within the budget!
Ben lives and breathes our events. This is why many of our client relationships last for years. His knowledge and relationships with suppliers ensure we can deliver even the most complex projects.
Ben’s commercial and stakeholder management is also critical, working with our clients to navigate the continually changing landscape of free public events, ticketing, sponsorship and trading to create fiscal plans which are long-lasting.
