Bristol 10k

The Bristol 10k is one of the fastest growing and most popular running events in the UK and has been recognised as a RunBritain Grand Prix event. Nearly 10,000 runners signed up for this year’s race, the entry list included runners from all over Europe, New Zealand and Australia alongside thousands of participants from the UK.

There were records a-plenty with Gemma Steele (32.15) shattering the women’s course record by over 1min in a thrilling race.

Welshman Martin Rees went one better as he bettered the World best by almost 30secs – winning in 32.54. The Welshman clearly enjoys the South West as he also bettered the World half marathon best at Bath. When asked to what he accredited his fine form he quipped “retirement”.

There was also a splendid new PB for wheelie David Cooke a regular supporter of the RunBristol events.

The women’s race produced an equally thrilling race with Gemma Steel (32.15), Katrina Wooton and Selam Abere mixing and matching at the front of the field.

REM provide a full range of event management services and have enjoyed being part of the RunBristol success story.
