BBC @ Bristol Food Connections

As part of the citywide food celebration Bristol Food Connections, which ran from 1 to 11 May, the BBC hosted BBC @ Bristol Food Connections: a free, family-friendly festival featuring ‘affordable, achievable and inspirational’ cooking demonstrations with a host of celebrity chefs including Tom Kerridge and the stars of Junior Bake Off and Junior MasterChef.

Situated in Waterfront Square in Bristol, the BBC element ran across both festival weekends and included five main tents: a 500-seat BBC Stars’ Kitchen; Making Sense of Flavour; The Science of Food; Eat Like a Superstar; and a radio hub which broadcast live and pre-recorded audience shows throughout the festival. As well as providing plenty of fun, all the demos and activities within the tents were designed to inspire, excite and educate families about healthy food. This was also the first year for Bristol Food Connections, a large-scale, citywide event which aims to establish Bristol as the sustainable food capital of Europe.
